| The Company entered into a ‘Lease To Purchase’ Agreement with Mousseau Tremblay Inc. for the acquisition of 100% interest in the Granada Mine Property located in Rouyn – Noranda, Quebec. The terms include $350,000 cash and lease payments, plus a 3% NSR with a 1.5% buyout for $1 million, are subject to regulatory approval. The property is the site of the Company’s newly acquired 250-ton/day gold mill that is now in operation processing stockpiled ore. Historical data indicates that past production from the Granada property has been from narrow high-grade quartz veins. A NI 43-101 Report has been commissioned to evaluate present reserves and further potential as the property will be part of the Tier II graduation for the Company. The Company is also evaluating other nearby properties to add to an inventory of proven producers to move towards its mandate to be a mid size gold producer. On August 18, 2006 a test gold button was poured. The gold button weighing 4.3 kilograms (133 troy ounces) with a estimated gold purity of 75 percent was produced from the processing of the open pit Granada Mine ore at an average mill throughput of 10 tonnes per hour during the commissioning phase of the Granada Mill. On August 31, 2006 the first official gold pour took place from ore that was stockpiled on surface from previous operators. The ceremony was attended by over fifty people including people who worked on the property in the past during is exploration and production stages, current investors, present personnel and directors of Big Valley (below) and Rocmec. The pour produced a gold button weighing 5.7 kilograms (146 troy ounces) with an estimated gold purity of 80 per cent. As further milling continued, this button was increased in size from the test button. As mill start-up operations continue, the average mill throughput is currently 10 tonnes per hour. Big Valley will continue to evaluate the overall performance of the mill and will make process changes and upgrades to maximize overall throughput and recovery. Big Valley is purchasing a gravity plant with a capacity of 10 tonnes per day to process high-grade ores and concentrates. This plant will also be used to evaluate custom ores and tailings that can be processed at the Granada Mill site. The fully permitted mill is located on Big Valleys Granada Mine property and is equipped with the Merrill Crowe system, a direct cyanidation process with gold precipitation. The mill will be used to process the mineralized ore extracted from the Granada Mine and nearby properties as they become permitted to be shipped to the Granada site and permitted to be processed. |
