| Consolidated Big Valley Resources Inc. - CBG.HNEWS RELEASE January 9, 2006 PROGRESS UPDATE AT THE RUSSIAN KID GOLD PROPERTYDewatering to the 150-foot level by is now completed by Mirabel's on-site employees. The rehabilitation work currently under way is conducted by one work crew, however starting mid-January, 2006, the number of employees will gradually be increased. The ramp measures 3.4 metres high by five metres wide and is completely rock bolted. Currently in process is the installation of the ventilation system, electrical cables, compressed air and water piping. Sampling and results of analysisMr. Bourgoin (qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101) visited the mine site in June 2005, 14 grab samples were taken at surface from different points of ore stockpiles located close to the shaft and access ramp. The samples were bagged and tagged with a brief description including their relative position. The samples were analyzed for gold content by Laboratoire d'Analyse Bourlamaque Ltee. located in Val d'Or, Que., by fire assay. Sample identification, grades and a brief description of the rock type are summarized in the following table: SampleNo. Au gpt Description 77451 4.37 Oxidized rusted diorite, 10-20% PY 77452 2.97 Quartz and sericite 1-2% PY, oxidized rock 77453 5.57 Rusted sand -- fine particles with pyrite PY 77454 0.10 Diorite -- waste rock grey colour minus 1% PY 77455 0.20 Carbonated diorite -- orange brown colour minus 1% PY 77456 2.73 Sheared diorite,5-10% coarse grain PY,sericite alteration, less quartz 77457 <0.10 Diorite grey colour non- oxidized with less PY (waste rock) 77458 6.97 Alterated diorite with 10% PY and yellowish sand 77459 0.27 Carbonated diorite -- orange brown colour minus 1% PY 77460 6.07 Quartz vein with 5% PY among the fractures 77461 8.43 Erratic quartz with sericite alteration -- yellowish sand sample 77462 25.37 Grab sample from ore stockpile -- pieces of mineralized quartz 77463 13.27 Grab sample from ore stockpile -- pieces of mineralized quartz 77464 25.30 Carbonated diorite -- 2% PY and small veinlets of carbonate- quartz These results, even though preliminary, indicate that the fine pyrite associated with quartz-carbonated veinlets contain the highest gold grades (samples 77460, 462, 463). It also indicates that the walls of the host rock (diorite) may contain significant gold grades (samples 77451, 456, 458, 464). The following press release was prepared under the supervision of Mr. Bourgoin (qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101) from the firm MRB & Associates.
